Prabhat Kids School, Akola, observed the birth anniversary of the Missile Man of India, former President, Bharat Ratna Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, with great reverence and inspiration on 15th October 2025. This significant day is also commemorated as Wachan Prerana Din (Reading Inspiration Day) aimed at fostering a lifelong love for reading among students.

The celebration began with a solemn garlanding of Dr. Kalam’s portrait by the respected Principal Mrs. Vrushali Waghmare, paying heartfelt homage to one of India’s greatest visionaries.

Following this, a motivational speech was delivered by Miss. Prajakta Pande of class VIII Topaz, highlighting his humble beginnings, scientific achievements and unmatched commitment to youth empowerment. Her words resonated deeply with the audience and reflected the spark of Dr. Kalam wished to ignite in every young mind.

The day’s significance was further enriched through a special reading activity organized by the Library Department under the valuable guidance of School’s Founder Director Dr. Gajanan Nare, Mrs. Vandana Nare, Principal Mrs. Vrushali Waghmare and Librarian Mr. Manoj Sonone. Students’ enthusiastic participation made the activity a successful one. The activity aimed to instill in students the habit of regular reading, aligning perfectly with the objective of ‘Wachan Prerana Din’ to nurture intellectual curiosity and encourage young learners to explore the world of books.

The entire program was gracefully conducted and hosted by Ms. Yashodhara Wakode, who seamlessly connected each segment while highlighting the values of Dr. Kalam stood for.
