PRABHAT KIDS SCHOOL, AKOLA  organized The Ashadhi Ekadashi Celebration on 16th July 2024 in the school. The school authorities, teaching staff and the students attended the programme with the zeal and enthusiasm.

Ashadhi Ekadashi, also known as Devshayani Ekadashi, is one of the most significant Hindu festivals dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Celebrated on the 11th day (Ekadashi) of the bright fortnight of the Ashadha month , it marks the beginning of Chaturmas, a four-month period during which Lord Vishnu is believed to rest.

Prabhat Kids School became the Pandharpur where devotees assembled to offer their prayers and participate in the special puja of Lord Vitthal and Rukhmini. The Marathi Department of Prabhat Kids School conducted the programme with great devotion and explained the significance of Ashadhi Ekadashi to the students.

One of the highlights of the celebration was the traditional procession, also known as Dindi with Pavli Bhajan, where devotees carried palanquins adorned with the idols of Lord Vithoba and Rukmini. The procession, accompanied by melodious bhajans  and the rhythmic beats of the dhol, mridanga  created an atmosphere of spiritual fervor. All the students were eager to catch a glimpse of the divine idols and seek blessings.

Following the procession, various cultural programs were organized. These included  performances like Fugdi, Bharud, folk songs like Pingla and Kirtana in English depicting the life and teachings of Lord Vithoba and the importance of Ekadashi. The performances were not only entertaining but also educational, enriching the knowledge of the attendees about their cultural heritage.

The Ashadhi Ekadashi celebration concluded with a grand aarti. The event was a resounding success and fostering a sense of communal harmony and spirituality.

Prabhat’s Marathi Dept., Cultural Dept., Music Dept., and Art and Craft Dept. undertook the tremendous efforts for making the programme a grand success.
