In an exceptional initiative to foster a love for reading among students, Prabhat Kids School, in partnership with the Vishal Himalaya Foundation (USA), launched the innovative and impactful ‘Vachan Prabhat’—a ‘Library on Wheels’ designed to bring the joy of books directly to students’ doorsteps.
This trailblazing project involves the Prabhat team operating a mobile van filled with a diverse and rich collection of books, offering students the opportunity to discover and immerse themselves in literature. Stationed at the school, the mobile library serves as a beacon of knowledge in rural areas, where access to quality reading materials is often limited. The initiative ensures that students in underserved regions have easy access to books, promoting literacy and learning.
Not only does this project provide books, but it also encourages both students and teachers to complete their reading hours, enriching their educational experience. Participants share valuable feedback, which further enhances the impact of the initiative.
In rural communities, the scarcity of good books can hinder students’ academic growth. ‘Vachan Prabhat’ addresses this gap by providing a unique solution, empowering students to explore new ideas and build their literacy skills. The project has received national recognition, gaining praise at international principals’ educational conference (IPEC)-2023, where it was honored by Hon. Nitin Ji Gadkari, the Cabinet Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India, for its significant contribution to education and community development.
