(Workshop on Anti-Rabies Vaccination and Awareness at Prabhat Kids School)
Prabhat Kids School, Akola, in collaboration with the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Akola, organized a “Workshop on Anti-Rabies Vaccination and Awareness” on 30th September 2025, marking World Rabies Day.









This initiative, undertaken by the school’s Health and Wellness Club and Social Welfare Club, aimed to raise awareness among students and the community about the prevention, control and timely treatment of rabies, a fatal yet preventable disease. The event brought together experts from the veterinary and medical fields to enlighten young learners and spread a message of public health responsibility.
The workshop was graced by eminent speakers from College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Akola consisting of Dr. Sunil Waghmare, Hospital Superintendent; Dr. Sudhakar Awandkar, Professor and Head (Microbiology) and Nodal Officer (Rabies) and Dr. Mahesh Ingawale, Professor (Gynecology) and Extension Coordinator. The dignitaries were accorded a warm welcome with a Shawl, Shrifal and Bouquet by School’s Founder Director Hon. Dr. Gajanan Nare and Vice Principal Mrs. Archana Belsare, as a token of respect and appreciation. Their presence lent immense value to the awareness drive, creating an inspiring and educational environment for all participants.
Dr. Sunil Waghmare set the tone of the session by introducing the theme and emphasizing the significance of timely vaccination and preventive measures. He highlighted the urgent need for public awareness to eradicate rabies from society. This was followed by an in-depth and interactive session by Dr. Sudhakar Awandkar, who explained the anatomy of the rabies virus, its modes of transmission, preventive strategies, immediate first-aid measures after dog bites, and essential Dos and Don’ts to avoid infection. His session captivated the students, equipping them with practical knowledge to tackle real-life situations responsibly.
The workshop concluded with a quick recapitulation by Dr. Mahesh Ingawale, reinforcing key learning and motivating students to become ambassadors of rabies awareness in their communities. The programme was efficiently anchored by Mr. Shubham Dange, who also proposed a heartfelt Vote of Thanks. Under the valuable guidance of School’s Founder Director Hon. Dr. Gajanan Nare, Director 0rs. Vandana Nare, Principal Mrs. Vrushali Waghmare, Vice Principal Mrs. Archana Belsare and Management, Mr. Prashant Holkar (CBSE Coordinator) and Mr. Nandkishor Dambale (Cultural Head) took the efforts and ensured the smooth execution of the event. This impactful awareness drive truly reflected the school’s commitment to nurturing health-conscious and socially responsible citizens.
