With the objective of creating awareness about plastic waste, promoting eco-friendly habits, and sensitizing students towards sustainable living, a Plastic Waste Awareness Workshop was successfully conducted for students.
The workshop aimed to educate students about the harmful effects of plastic on the environment, encourage responsible waste management and inspire them to adopt plastic-free practices in their daily lives.
The workshop was graced by the presence of eminent environmental activists Dr. Manisha Paliwal, President, and Dr. Yogesh Paliwal, Secretary of MY Vasudha Vikas organization, who have been tirelessly working for plastic eradication, tree plantation, and a disposable-free society in Akola for over 15 years. The dignitaries Mr. Tushar Palaskar, Mr. Sarang Puranik (Founder Director) and Mrs. Bhagyashree Puranik (Co-Founder) from Punhakruti Solutions Pvt. Ltd. were also present on the occasion. All the dignitaries were warmly welcomed by the Hon. Founder Director, Dr. Gajanan Nare, with a shawl, shriphal and bouquet. The programme was efficiently hosted by Mr. Prashant Holkar, CBSE Coordinator.
During the interactive session, the resource persons shared inspiring examples of their initiatives such as free distribution of cloth bags, large-scale plantation drives and campaigns like Plastic Bank, Seed Bank and Disposable-Free initiatives. Students participated actively, asked thoughtful questions and showed keen interest throughout the workshop. The session proved to be highly informative and motivating, leaving students with a strong message of environmental responsibility and collective action for a plastic-free future.
